About the event

In a land known for its’ saints and scholars, let the storytellers and musicians of Dalriada Legends lead you into a bygone world when saints were worshiped and revered, and people danced attendance upon their scholars.

Oscar Wilde said, ‘Every Saint has a past...’ Of course, everyone knows that St. Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland and is reputed to have established the first church at Glenarm in 5th century AD. He also famously rid the country of snakes! But did he have a darker side? Discover more about this enigmatic preacher and other saintly figures through local myths and legends, which might contain more truth than you imagine…

Scholars, like saints, come in in all shapes and sizes and the Antrim Coast and Glens have more than their fair share. They say it takes a wise man to play the fool: In Saints & Scholars, Dalriada Legends will look at some local infamous characters, but also ’Wise Women’, tricksters, sinners and maybe even a fool or two…

Join us in the Bridge End Tavern Glenarm, well known for its’ welcome and atmosphere for a wonderful evening of nibbles, craic and a wee dram or two...
